The appearance alone would make the games' success an uphill battle IF the game was good. Can you imagine the sales of skins and cosmetics for those DEI designs?

In my head canon they saw the very early design concepts of "Hyenas" and one faction of woke activists, convinced of their world domination, became convinced that they needed a "Hyenas Killer" in the pipe ahead of time to deal with another one, given the obvious upcoming victory of their ideology. Thus we are seeing the "Killer App" designed to deal with a leftist vs. leftist culture world duel that never happened "Hey you might have transvestite space gunners, but we've got an asian granny!" If this was aimed at Overwatch, I think they missed the point that like 90% of the appeal of that was the awesome and highly sexualized character designs, which is why there were fights over it instantly. The whole subculture that appeared just doing fan-porn over this stuff... and people making money at it no less, did a lot to feed the success of the game itself. People forget the multi-tiered cultural and sub cultural feedback loop that powers the actual breakout successes. Even now, with things on the ropes, you can look up the work of someone like "Baron Strap" (you are forgiven for not know who that is... on some levels I feel weird in that I do ) and the amount of traffic his stuff has gotten, and realize... that's part of what fed this beast, and why even a terrible sequel like "Overwatch 2" can't kill it. It's not him, but the amount of people like him, and the desire for the product that crreates them... non pornographic versions even. Looking at the "Concord" character list it just reeks of that alleged "Present Day Audience" that doesn't really exist outside of the minds of weirdo activists. I don't think there is one character there anyone could produce porn, or bootleg fiction of, that would have people see it go "wow, that was amazing" and then want to track down the source of whatever. Denying realities like how sex sells (albeit only straight and lesbian sex) is how you burn hundreds of millions of dollars. Of course it's important to note that running off of nothing but sex appeal can cause you to crash and burn as well.. it's a balancing act, as you can't insult the audience.

A huge issue with the left is that they've made "discrimination" taboo without realizing that discrimination is a part of everyday life. An interview for a job is a discriminatory practice. A credit check before offering a loan is a discriminatory act. Any time you collect information and make a decision for or against a person, you are discriminating. Choosing whether or not to enter into a contract requires discrimination. But NO! That word is bad and all discrimination is bad according to the left. It's not. And just to prove the point. How many white sprinters won Olympic medals this year? We all know black people are faster on average. It's not discrimination to point that out or to acknowledge facts. I hate when the "woke mob" targets something they don't understand. Dwarves were a hardy race, hence the constitution bonus. Elves are more slender and agile hence the dex bonus. Humans were the baseline and got no bonuses. It's an intentional dismissal of intent and basic science at this point. They don't want to acknowledge the parts they don't like and are selective about the evidence they will allow into their argument.

It is basically overwatch 2, with worse graphics and lore and a huge dose of woke ideas. And the game mechanics is probably worse, too. I see no reason why anyone would play this. If anybody was a fan of this, they would just play overwatch 2 instead.

It would probably cost Sony less to just break the contracts and kill the game.

I would also like to point out that 8 years ago was around the time that Trump became the 45th president of the USA. You probably also know that a lot of people's brain broke when that happened and were replaced with TDS for a large portion of the entertainment industry in the USA. This game was likely conceived and started being created with TDS infusing the minds of everybody developing it. This was created in the time when wokeness was starting to become popular on the left and in the cities. That is receding now, and Concord likely will crash hard just like Dustborn. The tens and tens of people who will play it will like it, but everyone else will never touch it, purposely.
